چکیده
Structure of Oligostatin C Oligostatin C (Ic), a basic, water-soluble, amorphous substance; m.p. 183'C (dec.), [a]21+154' (c 1, H,O), shows strong IR absorption maxima at 31003600 and 9801180 cm-1 indicative of its oligosaccharide nature. PMR spectrum of Ic in D2O shows a methyl signal at 1.38 ppm (d, J=6 Hz), a methine proton at 2.76 ppm (t, J=9 Hz) and complex signals at 5.2 5.5 ppm assignable to anomeric protons (J=4 Hz). Neither olefinic proton in PMR, nor sp'carbon in CMR is observed. Acid hydrolysis of Ic gave 3 moles of D-glucose and a basic product found identical with tricyclic

Oligostatins, new antibiotics with amylase inhibitory activity. I. Production, isolation and characterization.
Oligostatins C, D and E, three new antibiotics were found in the culture filtrate of Streptomyces myxogenes nov. sp. SF-1130. Their spectral and chemical properties suggested that oligostatins were basic oligosaccharide antibiotics. They exhibited not only antibacterial activity but also strong amylase inhibitory activity.
متن کاملInfluence of Three Morus Species Extracts on ?-Amylase Activity
Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common endocrine diseases and its type II is the major form of diabetes, accounting for 90% of cases worldwide. The inhibition of carbohydrate hydrolyzing enzymes such as ?-amylase can be an important strategy in the control of blood glucose levels in patients with type II diabetes. In this investigation, three Morus species, M. alba, M. alba var. nigra and ...
متن کاملInhibitory Effects of Six Allium Species on ?-Amylase Enzyme Activity
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by chronic hyperglycemia. The management of the blood glucose level is a critical strategy in the control of diabetes complications. Inhibitors of carbohydrate hydrolyzing enzymes have been useful as oral hypoglycemic drugs for the control of hyperglycemia especially in patients with type II disables mellitus. The goal of the present study...
متن کاملFlavonoids from Salvia chloroleuca with α-Amylsae and α-Glucosidase Inhibitory Effect
It is believed that the inhibition of carbohydrate hydrolyzing enzymes including α-amylase and α-glucosidase is one of the therapeutic approaches to decrease the postprandial glucose level after a meal, especially in the people with type 2 diabetes. Medicinal plants and their extracts are one of the main sources to find new inhibitors to the enzymes. In our study four flavonoids, namely luteoli...
